Corporate Summer Offsites: Beverage Programs That Do Not Derail the Agenda

Christopher Rice · July 14, 2026 · 4 min read

Hosted bar station at a corporate outdoor offsite with staff serving guests

A summer offsite has a job to do, and the bar can either support it or wreck it. The programs that work are low-ABV during daylight, genuinely inclusive so the non-drinkers are not standing around, and structured so the social hour ends when the agenda says it does.

We build these across the Front Range. See corporate event bar service.

What does a good offsite beverage plan look like?

Why low-ABV is the whole trick for daytime

At altitude, in the sun, on a workday, a standard cocktail at 2pm ends the afternoon session. A spritz, a session highball, or a wine cooler at roughly half the alcohol lets people participate socially without the room going soft. Nobody notices the ABV. Everybody notices the difference at 4pm.

Inclusion is a business requirement, not a nicety

Whatever share of your team does not drink, and it is usually larger than leadership assumes, will remember whether the company thought about them. Two properly built zero-proof drinks with the same glassware, the same garnish, and the same billing on the menu solve it completely. That is the core of our zero-proof program, and it is the reason we get booked for offsites where drinking is not the point.

Make the bar an activity instead of a queue

A hosted mixology or mocktail class turns thirty passive minutes into the part of the offsite people actually talk about afterward, and it works better than most trust exercises because everyone ends up with something in their hand. Ninety minutes of instruction, plus arrival and wrap, is roughly two hours start to finish. More on why it works: why mixology classes actually work.

Budget structure that finance will approve

  • Consumption with a cap. You pay for what is poured, up to a ceiling you set in advance.
  • Per-person package. Predictable line item, easy to approve, easy to reconcile.
  • Drink tickets. Two per person, then a cash bar. Blunt but effective for large groups.
  • Staffing and product split. Ask for it broken out so you can see what is service and what is inventory.

Two offsites

Boulder tech company, 90 people, full day

Sparkling water bar all morning, low-ABV spritz and two zero-proof features at lunch, mocktail class at 3pm, real bar at 6pm. Evening attendance was near total because nobody had faded in the afternoon.

Sales kickoff, 200 people, two nights

Night one a two-hour hosted reception on a package price with a hard close, night two a shorter awards reception with wine service only. Two very different bars, one program.

Yes. We bring the bar, ice, glassware, and staff, and set up in a conference room or lobby.

Do you handle multi-day programs?

Yes, with a different build each day rather than the same bar repeated.

Regularly. See high-altitude cocktails for how we adjust.
